Light and heat. Heavy and blinding, the sun beats upon the dry earth like a hammer to the anvil. Dust rises in the movement of creatures, the sound of life deafening in the air as the wind blows cries and moans and animal scent to other locations the animals had never been. Colors fade in the depths of the white light, leaving nothing but blinding and shade.

Dusk. Like a heavy cloak that weighs like a cloud, the dark settles upon the earth like a veil, delicate and subtle in the changes it brings. Light fades slowly as the heat gathers at the earth before both are blown away in a final burst of red light as colors dull to gray. The dark falls quickly once the red has gone, leaving soft hues of blue and green and purple in the night sky before all day light fades into the soft glow of moon and stars and the coolness of night. Dark invades the day as the day chases night, in that dance of the hours.

It was always amazing to watch, the dance of day and night.

Partner to I: Dawn. No much to say, but don't use either of those. See reason for this writing in Dawn.

And yet, somehow, I think of Zutara. Is that sad?

When I see you, I smile. When you talk, I'm speechless. When you walk, I stare. What can I say... retards amuse me. :)

You’re like our brother. Step brother. Weird kid down the street who eats nothing but mayonnaise on saltines.

What's sad is that is what I thought when I finished writing them. Katara's watching the dawn, and Zuko the dusk. I wrote them and then thought, huh, what a great image for a Zutara picture. :faint:

Thanks again for the favs.

Maybe we need to find out! Do a lobotomy/CAT SCAN of Bryke! Then we can figure how they think (I hope...).

Maybe we don't want to know how they think, though...

From the more negative verbs and adjectives, I take it you like the dawn better? :D Again, beautiful descriptives used here. I enjoyed both of these pieces.
